potluckOur next Congregational meal and meeting will be on Sunday, February 19. The meeting's agenda includes:
Financial report for the fiscal year to date.
Update on the safe church policies.
Update on Marilyn Rudy-Froese's visa.
Update regarding the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) group discussions and how we plan to use the results.

Liturgical Dancing

DanceAs a part of the Lenten Worship planning committee, Laura Moshier is forming a group of liturgical dancers to participate in at least two worship services during the season of Lent. Please contact Laura at home, 534-7886 or through email, if you are interested in dancing. All are welcome to participate regardless of experience.

Welcome Signs

welcome sign25 "Welcome" yard signs will be available this Sunday for $9.00 each. You will find them in the fellowship hall near the "potato table." Some have been reserved and will have names on them. There are approximately 15 more, available for anyone. If we run out and you would like one, please email Susan Garboden.

Note from Dr. Nafziger

vaccineHaving a member of our congregation who is suffering from shingles reminded me that not everyone in our congregation may know that there is a vaccine which can prevent shingles. It is also called the zoster vaccine and it is essentially the same virus that is in the childhood chickenpox vaccine but at a higher dose. It is indicated for most people 60 and over although some insurance companies may cover it for those 50 and over since that is the FDA’s indication for it. I have never met anyone who has had the shingles or zoster who wanted it a second time. I would recommend the vaccine for older folks who don’t want to find out for themselves how painful it can be.

Pastor's Note

noteDan Schrock will be on vacation until Sunday, February 26.

Meals for College Students

mealThere are only a couple of dates left to fill. If you would enjoy hosting a Sunday noon meal for the students, follow this link; username: students, password: bamf. For more information, contact Ruth Roth. Thank you so much for your meals and friendship to our students!

Free Books

booksThe library committee has set up a table in the Fellowship Hall with nonfiction books that have not been checked out for many years and are being discarded from the library to make room for new additions. You are welcome to take any of the books you want, and the rest will be donated to the Depot.

New to Our Library

libraryAmish Turns of Time, by Olivia Newport. Three riveting novels set in the early twentieth century take readers through pivotal historical events in the lives of Amish from three key communities.

More Ready Than You Realize:  Evangelism as Dance in the Postmodern Matrix, by Brian D. McLaren. Disciple-making as conversation, as friendship, as influence, as invitation, as companionship, as challenge, as opportunity, as dance, as something you get to do.

Crossing the Bridge:  Church Leadership in a Time of Change, by Alan Roxburgh with Mike Regele. This book is about leading congregations or denominations through a period of tumultuous transition.

Road Signs for the Journey:  A Profile of Mennonite Church USA, by Conrad L. Kanagy is a good antidote to the notion that one has to choose between evangelism and peacemaking, or between identity and mission. Both book and DVD are available in the library.
