Guess Who's Coming to Lunch?
This Sunday is our "Guess Who's Coming to Lunch?" (surprise luncheon) event. Hosts are being/have been informed of the number of guests to expect, and if you have signed up to be a guest, you will find the information of where to go in your church mailbox. If the driver of your vehicle wants to make it a mystery as long as possible, they can keep it a secret from the rest of the family and keep them in suspense as long as possible. We hope all who are participating have a great time with this experience!
This Sunday we will also be having a wedding shower for Lisa Horst and Isaac Yoder Schrock immediately after the worship service (during fellowship time and before the surprise luncheons take place). The shower will be a card/money shower for the couple and the Fellowship Committee will have blank cards available for anyone who has forgotten to bring one along.
Survey on Our Starting Time
In February, the congregation agreed to change the start time of worship from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The purpose of this change was to help us appeal to a wider range of people. This was for a trial period from March through the end of August. Since the trial period will soon conclude, we we would like to know as to whether to keep the new start time of 9:30 a.m., or return to the old start time of 9:00 a.m. The Coordinating Council will review the results of this survey and bring a recommendation to the August 18 congregational meeting. Jubilee Renovation Update: Fundraising
Thanks to Anne Berry for creating the Jubilee Fundraising chart hanging across from the mailboxes and to those of you who have supported the Renovation Fund 2013 so far. Each dot on the chart represents $100 that has been contributed. Progress can also be tracked every week in the OWL
in the right column with the statistical report. Let’s keep the contributions coming so that we can fully fund the classroom, nursery and office renovations as we work together to make the changes that increase effective use of our facility. Designate your contribution to “Renovation 2013.” Thanks! - The Jubilee Renovation 2013 Fundraising Committee (Phil Zimmerman, Barbara Eichorn and Jim Brenneman).

You've heard about Stephen Ministry now. Maybe you have felt a tug to become a Stephen Minister or someone has tapped you on the shoulder to ask you to consider it. Maybe the first training time just wasn't good for you. We invite you to consider becoming a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are trained to provide one-one Christian care for people within the congregation and community who would benefit from someone walking with them. This fall is another opportunity for training. We will be partnering with College Mennonite for this training. While all are welcome, we especially encourage men to consider becoming Stephen Ministers. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of training, please speak with one of the Stephen Leaders, Shirley Dick
or Marilyn Rudy-Froese
