During the month of May, the Worship Commission has arranged for a special series on the five senses. Our overall theme is “Awaken us, God, to who we are!” Although our five senses are integral parts of our embodied human experience, we aren't always aware of the role these senses play in our life with God. Our goal in this series is to explore some of the ways the senses enhance our relationship with God.

Bethany Christian High School’s performing arts troupe, Emmaus, will presents its final public program of the 2016 season this Sunday, May 15, at 6:00 p.m. in Bethany’s chapel. Shared in area elementary schools and other public venues, this year’s show is entitled Not An Island
. As the troupe reflected on the world’s current problems and needs, then looked at how that boils down for small communities and children, they saw loneliness and exclusion as issues to be addressed. Filled with fun, energetic, familiar stories (such as Otis and Winnie the Pooh) and songs (such as I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad and You’ve Got a Friend in Me), Not An Island
tackles issues that are relevant to today’s children and grown-ups alike.
