Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

DinnerFellowship Commission is planning a "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" (surprise luncheon) for July 28. This is how it works: Families sign up to be either "hosts" or "guests." The duties of the host family is to provide the home/space, and their part in the menu is to provide sandwiches for the lunch. They also indicate how many people they are able to accommodate in their home. The guest families will provide salad as their contribution to the meal. In some ways it is a mini potluck. Forms are in your church mailbox and will have detailed information regarding the luncheon procedures. Please fill out and return to Sue Byler's mailbox by 10:30 a.m. on July 21. At that time, Commission members will pair up the hosts and guests. From past experience there has been a good balance of hosts and guests, in fact leaning toward more hosts, so if you don't feel you can host, don't hesitate to sign up as guests! Join the fun and fellowship this activity provides your family.

Church Renovation Update

Thanks to all that helped so far with our clean up and construction efforts. The ages of our volunteers now spans 70 years (12 to 82). Our next work night is Tuesday beginning at 7:00 p.m. Jobs include hanging drywall, removing drywall, removing baseboard and trim, and salvaging metal from demolition items. Contact Greg if you would like to help. We also need help for Saturday Clean-up. We are looking for people to help clean the construction area on Saturdays in preparation for Sunday morning. The job is approximately 30-45 minutes of work. For more details, contact Greg by email (, text, or phone (574-536-1996). Check out a few updated photos on Facebook.

Volunteer Janitors Still Needed

Thanks to our generous members, July 21 and 28 are now covered.  We are looking for volunteer(s) to fill in for our janitors for August 4. This would be a good activity or service project for a family, small group, or individuals.  Cleaning can be done during the week, or Saturday, most any time at your convenience. Tasks include preparing the Sanctuary and Sunday School classes for Sunday, cleaning bathrooms and making them presentable, vacuuming as needed, sweeping and vacuuming entrances, cleaning and vacuuming all open spaces as needed. If you are available to help out for August 4th, please contact Ben Buckwalter.

Stephen Ministry

You've heard about Stephen Ministry now.  Maybe you have felt a tug to become a Stephen Minister or someone has tapped you on the shoulder to ask you to consider it.  Maybe the first training time just wasn't good for you.  We invite you to consider becoming a Stephen Minister.  Stephen Ministers are trained to provide one-one Christian care for people within the congregation and community who would benefit from someone walking with them. This fall is another opportunity for training.  We will be partnering with College Mennonite for this training.  While all are welcome, we especially encourage men to consider becoming Stephen Ministers.  If you are interested in exploring the possibility of training, please speak with one of the Stephen Leaders, Shirley Dick or Marilyn Rudy-Froese

Online Photo Directory

The BullersWe are well on our way with the new directory and have plenty of slots available for people to get their pictures taken on Sunday. John Hooley will be outside (south of the library) taking pictures from 9:00 a.m. - 9:25 a.m., during the fellowship time, and after Sunday School. You can sign up online or email Renae Yoder or you can just show up! If you are interested in keeping your photo, let Rafael know and he will email it to you. Additionally, if you would like to include a link to your Facebook profile, please let Rafael know as well and he will add it to your entry.
