Thank you so much for all the cards and books and other gifts for Theo! We have a fully stocked bookshelf now and are generally overwhelmed with the caring words and generosity Berkey Avenue has shared with us. It continues to be a pleasure to worship with this congregation. ~ Anna, Jaron, and Theo.
Renovation Fundraising Update
Good news! We are just $4,562 short of our funding goal for the Jubilee Renovation Project. Now that the costs are in, the goal has been reduced from $54,900 to $49,800. The congregation has given a total of $45,238 as of last Sunday, which means we are much closer to completely funding the project. We celebrate this good news and invite you to give in a final push to fund the remaining amount needed to meet our revised goal. Thank you all! ~ The Fundraising Committee, Phil Zimmerman, Jim Brenneman and Barbara Eichorn

Cleaning Supplies Needed
The Mission Commission has been asked by Cora Brown from The Church Without Walls to collect the following items for their shelter: paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, and other cleaning items. A container will be placed in the Fellowship Hall for these items, starting this Sunday through Sunday, November 24. The shelter serves single women and households headed by women, to help them obtain stable and sustainable housing, giving them opportunities to improve basic life skills and training to become economically independent. Thank you for your help with this need.
Berkey College Fund
This spring our congregation will have 13 young people attending Mennonite colleges. Each student is eligible for assistance of $500 for the fall semester from our college matching fund. Giving to this fund is wise because the colleges match all contributions dollar for dollar—and you get a tax deduction on your contribution. Very few investments double your money like this. We hope to raise $6,500 by December 1. As of October 27, we have $4,942 in the college fund. Please mark your contribution for the college fund and place it in the offering. Thank you!
Goshen Ministerial Fund Collection
The Mission Commission is requesting that you consider making a donation during the offering to the GMA Fund. By giving to this compassion Fund you will be providing emergency financial assistance to our community members who otherwise would not be able to pay for such things as their heat and electricity, rent and other critical needs. The GMA is an effective way of pulling together the resources of Goshen's churches to work together to meet some of the needs of our less fortunate neighbors. Recipients may only use the Fund one time a year. Each month the GMA turns away more people than it can help due to insufficient funding. Thank you for giving to those in need.
