Borders, Boundaries and Bridges

On a Tuesday morning in a large, bare room deep in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility, 15 women – some in street clothes and some in tan or red or yellow prison uniforms – stood in a circle holding hands, and sang a song called “I found God in myself,” based on a Ntozake Shange quote. The women were students in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange course. Half the students were from Goshen College and the others were “inside” students. Learn more.

AMBS Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary

Fifteen students were honored at the commencement service on May 23. Ten of these are serving as pastors or are pursuing pastoral ministry. Others are pursuing chaplaincy, further study, and community-based peace and justice work. For all their acquired knowledge to be transmuted to wisdom, speaker Nancy Bedford told the graduates, "it needs to be embedded in practices of peace, compassion, humility and honesty."

Eleanor Nafziger
I am the oldest of three children and was born in Stryker, Ohio.  When i was 7 years old, my family moved to Archbold, Ohio where i lived until the death of my husband, Gerald Nafziger, afterwhich i moved to Goshen to be close to one of my children.
I accepted Christ as my Savior around the age of 12, was baptized and became a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church. After i married i transferred my membership to the Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, Ohio. I've been attending Berkey Avenue since January of 1997 where i am now a member.  I really appreciate my Berkey Avenue church family.
My children are Bev (Dave) Krabill who attend Berkey, Sandy (Mark) Zehr, Peoria, Arizona and Lynn (Terri) Nafziger, Dublin Ohio.  I have 5 grandsons, Andrew Krabill who is married to Chelsea Lambright, Aaron Krabill who is engaged to Brook Cripe, Alex and Bradley Nafziger, and Jake Zehr.
Some of the things i enjoy are reading, sewing, jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles.
