Colossian Way Study Group
The Colossian Way study group on human sexuality will begin on February 5. We are so grateful for the interest people have expressed in this group. While it would be wonderful to accommodate everyone, this is a pilot project through the Colossian Forum, and because we need consistent attendance at every meeting, we have asked people to participate in the group who have committed to be present. We think they represent the diversity of our congregation in terms of age, gender and theological spectrum, and are so grateful for their willingness to engage this conversation on behalf of the congregation. We covet your prayers for this process and for those involved: Facilitators, Hannah Canaviri and Joe Liechty, and Participants, Cindy Baker, Gregg Beitler, Abbe Buller, Adam Derstine, Ruth Hathaway, Bev Krabill,Seth Krabill, Jenny Miller, Richard Miller, and Sarah Morrison.

Meals for College Students
Over the years Berkey has been a wonderful, welcoming church home for many college/young adult students. One of the highlights for the students is having a meal each Sunday after church. This allows them to get to know our church family in a more informal setting and learn to know a wider range of people. You don’t need to make anything fancy – just a simple meal of food you enjoy making. You can host in your home or at the church, using the church kitchen. You may sign up individually, with someone else or as a small group. To sign up follow this link
; username: students, password: bamf. For more information, contact Ruth Roth
. Thank you so much for your meals and friendship to our students!
The library committee has set up a table in the Fellowship Hall with nonfiction books that have not been checked out for many years and are being discarded from the library to make room for new additions. You are welcome to take any of the books you want, and the rest will be donated to the Depot.

Mennonite Central Committee
Taylor Ermoian, a former Berkey attender and a current MCC SALT volunteer in Jerusalem, Palestine-Israel writes:
"For the 2016-2017 year I am serving with Mennonite Central Committee’s SALT program in Jerusalem, Palestine-Israel. While living in Jerusalem I am volunteering two days a week at the Armenian school in the Old City of Jerusalem and at a human rights organization in Beit Hanina for three days a week. I am appreciative that I am able to serve at the Armenian school because I directly interact and spend meaningful time with students. Additionally I am able to reconnect with my Armenian roots and learn more about my ancestral heritage.
During my time at Goshen College I regularly attended Berkey Avenue and found it to be a very meaningful place during my two years in Goshen. I was especially thankful for the young adult small group that met after the service as it served as an open space to have authentic conversation about all aspects of faith. Berkey was an extremely welcoming and inviting community that served as wonderful place of worship for me during a rather transformative time in my life. I would enjoy hearing from Berkey folks by “friending” me on facebook or contact via e-mail at email@example.com."
Berkey's Mission Commission approved financial support for Taylor’s work with MCC. If you would like to contribute additional funds to Taylor’s service you can designate funds in your Berkey giving or donate on the MCC website
