We apologize that our church copier hasn't been working. The manufacturer is no longer making parts for our machine and used parts are hard to find. Therefore the Stewardship and Finance Commission has decided to buy a new copier which we hope will be delivered this coming week.
In response to interest in finding ways to integrate our church's 4-year-olds into the church services (from the nursery), the worship commission has purchased quiet activities for the 4 and 5 year-olds. They are displayed on a shelf in the northwest corner of the sanctuary for easy access throughout the service. Adjustments will be made as we explore what this new addition will bring. We hope and pray that these activities will serve as a tool to facilitate a welcoming and open environment for our young ones during our worship time.
All JYF and MYF youth and mentors are invited to a special Mentor-Mentee nurture hour and lunch together on Sunday, November 13, at Berkey. Bethany Christian High School’s Senior Class Fish Fry is on Friday, October 28. Come between the hours of 4:30 and 8:00 p.m. for an evening of fellowship, homemade pie, and all the fish you can eat. Tickets are available from all Bethany seniors (including Berkey's Carissa Hochstetler) or at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children in grades 1-6. Preschool age is free. Carryout is also available with adult tickets only.

Merry Lea Event
Join Mennonite Creation Care Network for an adventure in spiritual geography, Saturday October 22, 9:00 a.m.-noon at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, Farmstead Site. This workshop will fuse biblical study of the headwaters of Eden in Genesis 2 and experiential study of the headwaters of the Elkhart River found at Merry Lea. As we learn about the role of headwaters in our local streams, we will also discover ways to keep our rivers vibrant and healthy. Presenters are Doug Kaufman, a conference pastor in the Indiana-Michigan Conference and Joel Pontius, Merry Lea faculty. The cost is $20; register here

MCC welcomes donations of money for its disaster response in Haiti, where people are suffering the effects of Hurricane Matthew, which crossed the country October 4. Matthew's high winds and extensive flooding caused significant damage and increased already heightened cholera concerns in the Artibonite Valley, where MCC's long-term reforestation program operates. People of all ages are invited to knot comforters at Pleasant View Mennonite Church.on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 for the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Great Lakes Comforter Bash in Goshen. MDC Goldenrod will once again be hosting an auction. Maple City Community Orchestra presents Rupelstiltzkin
Children and adults of all ages are invited to join the Maple City Community Orchestra for their annual family concert on Sunday, October 16, 3:00 p.m. at Sauder Hall in the Goshen College Music Center. This debut concert of the 2016-2017 season features Goshen College Assistant Professor of Theater, Anna Kurtz Kuk, as she engages the audience in the tales of Rumpelstiltzkin and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Concert admission is free. Freewill donations to support the orchestra are greatly appreciated and can be given at the door.
