Berkey Announcements

Thank You

Thank you note We were so happy to have Addie and Micah dedicated in church on Sunday. Having chosen a busy summer weekend, we missed having many of you there so we wanted to include a brief note in the newsletter as well.  We first considered having Addie dedicated when she was a baby and we were attending Portland Mennonite Church. However, since we were thinking about a move to Goshen at the time, we decided to wait and have her dedicated at a church that we would be a part of as she grew.   We are grateful to have found that community here at Berkey.

Berkey has welcomed our family with open arms. You have reached out to Addie in the nursery and ministered to her through her wonderful Sunday school class.  You helped us welcome Micah by providing delicious meals for our family. We rejoice with you in the gift of our children and look to you for support as we continue on our own faith journeys and strive to raise our kids to know God.

Blessings,
Aaron and Stephanie Wieand

Getting to Know
Patrick Buller

I was born in Freeman, SD, but spent all my school-age years in Hillsboro, KS. I had two great years at Hesston College and finished up at Tabor College. I was ready to leave central Kansas and a couple friends invited me to move out to Phoenix. This was crazy and perfect. The weather was gorgeous and the Mennos there were great. Hiking the Grand Canyon with folks of all ages every year was one of the highlights. At some point, I found myself stumbling through the website MennoMeet and found a cute girl from Ohio who was living in Seattle. Abbe and I traveled back and forth a lot for over a year until I finally moved to Seattle. After a few years, we could feel it was time to head east. Now, we're happy to be back in the Midwest and closer to our families, and trying to figure out how to parent one crazy silly boy. Isaac and I love going for bike rides and someday I hope to buy a sailboat.

Whether you are new or a charter member, we are continually learning to know each other and we want to get to know you more. It can be very simple, your name, what you do for a living and what you are interested in. You can view our newsletter archive for some examples. Interested in being featured? Let us know!
