Let's do it! No time like the present to
🙌   Bang Out a Sweater!  🙌

BIG Needles, BIG Yarn, BIG Time Fun!

I think this is going to be BIG!

Mason Dixon Knitting’s yearly “Bang Out a Sweater!” is coming in February.
What is “Bang Out a Sweater” you ask?  Their website tells us it is the annual mad dash to knit a sweater in the shortest month of the year… and with an extra day this year, I think we have a chance of finishing.  We at the LambShoppe want to do a knit a long with all of our friends and bang out a sweater together!

What are we making, you ask? The Main Squeeze Cardigan by Jen Geigley.  It looks like a warm bundle of joy to us.  Add yoga pants and a Netflix miniseries and you've got yourself a hot date! The recommended wool is Rowan Big Wool….which we happen to stock!  But we have other ideas if that doesn't tickle your fancy.

Take a peek at your calendars and if Fridays in February from 5-7 are free, we would like you to be part of the group! We are going to get this project done in record time (twenty nine days)! Give us a call or come by the shop to learn more and sign up for the KAL and check out Rowan Big Wool and other options. We think this will be a blast! Upcoming Classes at LambShoppe!

Fun with Fiber! Time to get fingers involved with colorful “string.”Ages 5 ½ and up

Choose your favorite color for a headband, fingerless gloves or a hacky sack! Or what ever their little heart desires. We will be traveling beyond simply knitting and purling. This class is designed by the instructor to work at the skill level each child has achieved.  Everyone in the class could be working on something different.

An asymmetrical triangular shawl worked sideways with lace and added texture. This is a great pattern that you can easily convert to use a different weight yarn than the pattern calls for. In this class we will be using bulky weight and it gives this shawl a new twist. Striping is organic to Noro Yarn, so converting the pattern to Noro’s new Ito Yarn was an obvious choice.

Just a couple spaces left!

Quick Top Down Baby Jacket with Whitney

It’s a LambShoppe staple. The name says it all “Quick Top-Down Baby Jacket.” Knit on a size 15 needle, this is a quick project with lots to learn. It is a perfect first time sweater that is… you guessed it… QUICK! The sweater is knit from the top down, with raglan sleeves on double pointed needles, pick up and knit the collar and button band, making button holes and lots more. Pattern comes in 3 Baby/Infant sizes so options to choose from.

...Back for the last time!

A colorful Fair Isle cowl crafted with 13 mini cakes of Reywa’s yak and wool blend in bright, coordinating colors. Students will learn the provisional cast on, how to work with two strands of yarn at a time, how to read a chart, and much more. Start your first colorwork project and wow your friends with the finished project!

Make this asymmetrical shawl and “Audition” for a role as a fashion maven in the knitting universe.  This stellar (get it, star – audition – role – OK, I’m done) creation is made with garter intermissions (I couldn’t stop myself) between the four unique stitch patterns.  Another Michelle Hunter “Oscar” winner (I’m done apologizing) using one skein of Skacel Spray, and two same-color skeins of Simplicity.

Subtle glitz and garter stitch in the round makes this adorable, loose-fitting wrap which is perfect for a little bit of warmth over a top or a dress.  Slip it off of your shoulders and you now have an oversized cowl.  Pattern uses 3 skeins of Adriafil Stellato, which is available in  7 colors.  Fast, fun gift to make also – and it fits everyone!

If I didn't convince you to give up on that UFO and you wanted to take another swing at it, than this might be just what you need! Whitney's Help Desk is where you can schedule a one on one lesson through the shoppe with the wiz herself. Knitting, crochet, no problem. If its a dropped stitch, picking up a project where you have no clue where you left off, or learning a new skill, it's your class to do with what you need.
25 min minimum Saturday February 1st and the 15th.
