Join us at LambShoppe for another Cast On Party
The Nexilis Shawl
LambShoppe is pleased to welcome Alyssa Barton to host our latest Cast-on Party for an unveiling of her newest design, the Nexilis Shawl.  This piece is wearable as a light shawl or the perfect scarf for fall.  In fact, we have the very shawl that is featured above, so stop in and try it on. Knit on size US5 needles, this shawl has an interesting construction, with the mitered corners along the bottom edge in three different colors and transitions to a large band of garter ridges. It’s fun to make and exciting to wear.
Mark your calendars for Thursday September 28th from 5:30-7:00 for libations and light fare as Alyssa divulges all the tips and tricks to create this infinitely wearable work of art. Alyssa will also be introducing her new book, Knitting With Bamboo, and we will have a full complement of Jennifer Miller’s Auxometer Bamboo.   Alyssa is a headliner the next weekend in Breckenridge at the Lambs on the Run Retreat.

Please feel free to come early and meet up with Jennifer Miller, the artist behind one of our favorite yarns--Theodora's Pearls. She will be at the shoppe nice and early to help you pick out three fresh colors for the event.

There is no cost to attend this event.  But you will need three skeins of fingering weight yarn and size 5-32 circular needles. The Nexilis pattern is available for $8.00 as an in-store Ravelry download at LambShoppe.  As always, we’ve got your back and anything else you may need.

Call 303-322-2223 and reserve your spot today.
Upcoming Classes at LambShoppe!

Do you hate how standard knit beanies ruin your hair? Would your favorite coat be so much more awesome if it only had a hood? In this fun class, one of our most popular instructors, Annie Collins, will teach you several intermediate skills including how to read a chart, knit cables, pick up stitches, and make a twisted cord. tassels and pompoms.  You'll have a hood you can wear with any coat or jacket, that won't mess with your style or your do.

Are you a fan of symmetry? Do you unconsciously adjust items on your desk to line up straight? Are you a sucker for attractive geometry? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this class is for you! Join us in a workshop taught by Annie Collins, and learn how to read and work Steve Rouseau charts. Choose a pattern from his wide assortment of knitting patterns and purchase in-store through Ravelry, then lose yourself in the beauty of lines and pattern with like-minded geometry nerds.

The rug punching craze is hitting yet again! If you want to jump on board, come and join us on a Saturday for a full day dedicated to rug punching classes. Whether you have never heard of this fun technique or you are on your way to becoming a rug punching master, we have the perfect class for you. Choose from a pumpkin-themed Introductory class, a Next Steps class, or a Design-Your-Own workshop, all taught by the fabulous Rebecca of Storyteller Wool.

If you're reading this, then you probably don't need a beginning knitter course, but everyone could use more friends. Here's an opportunity to get your friends addicted to the fine fiber art that has occupied your hands and your time from that first warm embrace of supple cashmere to that fourth artisan yarn bowl that rounded out your collection. No, this class isn't for you - it's for the friends you wish you could spend more time with, if only they would learn to make fine things with spun wool. Time to get them hooked. Starting September 8th.

Purl Soho’s fabulous Jasmine Scarf pattern.  We made it out of the luxurious, soft, luscious Juniper Moon’s Herriot 100% baby alpaca.   Juniper Moon Farm's Herriot and Purl Soho’s pattern are fantazmagorical (have no idea what the word is, but it sounds right to describe this project)! This cozy 4-ply yarn has a slight halo and varies between a light worsted weight and a DK, we’re knitting it as a DK.  Each row you knit creates columns of caliper cables.  Come see our sample in the Shoppe.

Game Match Whit-a-long

As you know, here at LambShoppe we just love Michelle Hunter’s Mystery Knit-A-Longs. Her newest rendition is titled Match Play, a poncho featuring high-impact textured stitches and great techniques. The actual course doesn't start until October 4th, but that doesn't mean we can't get prepared (and excited!). If you are interested but still on the fence, you should join us for our Match Play Knit-In on Thursday, September 20th from 6-8pm.

Whitney, the host of the Match Play, will be onsite to show off previous Michelle Hunter Knit-A-Long projects including a baby sweater, socks, cowls, a poncho, shawls and more! Though we don't yet know what the finished poncho will look like, this introductory meeting will give you an idea of Michelle Hunter’s design and style. Once you're hooked ("when", not "if"), we will pick out your yarn color for the project so it can be ordered, wound, and ready for the first Knit-A-Long/Whit-A-Long on Thursday, October 4th.

Hey Jo! What's on your needles?
I'm on my second Eyelet Cowl!  I needed gifts for my daughter-in-law's family. I don't them know very well and thought this would be perfect.  It's a free pattern and only takes one skein of Plymouth Aireado and a couple of evenings of knitting.  It's scrumptious feeling for not a lot of $$.  Pro tip with this yarn:  Put your skein in the freezer overnight and you don't have issues with the fuzzies. Click here for the pattern.
Heads up! LambSHoppe will be closed September 3rd for Labor Day
Congratulations to our Yarn Along the Rockies Basket
