BASKETBALL AWARD CEREMONIES

On Wednesday, March 23rd, coaches/parents/student-athletes/siblings came together to celebrate BCA’s winter basketball seasons. Both middle school and high school teams celebrated their seasons and each squad had two players recognized with the Bengal Award and the Coach’s Award.

MISSION WEEK STUDENT RECAP

We are so proud of the work and fellowship our high schoolers experienced during Mission Week, and here’s the perspective from Sophie Scott (Class of 2024): 

“Through serving at Mathewson Street Church on Monday, and in the Smith Hill community Tuesday, the high school students had the amazing opportunity to get closer to God and His people. We went on prayer walks, delivered food to people experiencing homelessness, and got to know those around us a little bit better. On Wednesday, we left for an overnight retreat, where we grew our friendships, had deep conversations, and prayed together.  I think sometimes we get caught up in our own lives and all the stress and craziness that life brings. But last week we took a step back—our main focus was on God. And when God is our main focus, He can do great things.

“God is working in you. He wants your plans and your acts to fulfill His good purpose.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

NURSE’S DESK UPDATE

COVID-19
There has been one new case of COVID-19 since last week's communicator was sent. This individual was not at school during the infectious period. Thank you for continuing to keep your kids home from school when they have a symptom!
 
The Playbook was updated once again on March 15th. The changes mentioned in last week's communicator are reflected in the updated Pre K-12 School Outbreak Response Playbook. (version 9.1). 
 
Important: Many of the state-run test sites, including the Barrington location, will be closing at the end of this month! See link below for details and other options.

BCA also has at-home test kits to give to families to use when your child has symptoms and needs to test. Remember that only a negative rapid/antigen/at-home test is required now. Our at-home kits contain two tests and are meant to do two days in-a-row for best accuracy. Please let me know if you need one!

Nut-Free Lunches Reminder!
Students began dining in the cafeteria again this week. Yay! Remember that BCA is completely nut-free this year, which means even lunches that are eaten in the cafeteria need to be peanut and tree nut-free!
