BCA's High School students took part in three different activities as part of Mission Week. Our partners at half full llc and Providence Community Health Center coordinated our work on Monday and Tuesday. They started the week at Mathewson Street Church in Providence, cleaning, making meals for the homeless, and organizing clothing donations. On Tuesday, the students provided city cleanup from the State House on Smith Street all the way down to Chalkstone Avenue.

Mission Week wrapped up with an overnight retreat at Pilgrim Pines Camp in Swanzey, New Hampshire with games, fellowship, and prayer. Thanks to the high schoolers for their focus and effort this week, and to everyone who helped put these events together!

The BCA Staff is participating in its annual spiritual renewal day on Friday, March 18th and that means no school for our students. We hope they enjoy a three-day weekend and we look forward to seeing them back on Monday morning!

On Wednesday, March 23rd, we will be holding our First Annual Basketball Awards night. There will be two Awards ceremonies, one for the middle school from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, and one for the high school - from 7:45 to 9:00 PM. Both ceremonies will be held in the BCA multi-purpose room. Please RSVP by using this link, as space will be limited.

We’re finally getting some consistent warmer weather and as your kids start to break out their spring and summer clothing, it’s important to remember the BCA Dress Code. We are seeing many students wearing clothing with visible logos or patterns on them. Please double check your children’s clothing choices in the morning.  If you have any questions about the BCA Dress Code, please refer to this link

There has been one new case of COVID-19 at BCA in the past week. Students in grade 7, as well as all MS students on the track team, are encouraged to monitor for symptoms and stay home and get tested if they develop a symptom.

As COVID moves from Pandemic to Endemic, things continue to change. Here are the updates this week:
  • The Governor's Executive Order for Isolation and Quarantine has expired and has been allowed to end. This means that there is no longer a state requirement to isolate for 5 days for those who test positive; it is now just "strongly recommended.'' This also means that there is no longer a requirement for unvaccinated household contacts to quarantine for 5 days; that is now "strongly recommended" as well.
  • BCA students and staff should still test negative before returning to school after having a cough or two or more symptoms, however, a negative at-home test is acceptable.
  • Playbook Version 9.0 can be found here but is expected to be updated again soon.
  • Here are the general School Health Guidelines and Protocols for BCA.
