|President's Letter from
Happy New Year!
Possibilities, hope and excitement are building as the new board completes the needed groundwork for our 2012 journey. Notebooks have been cleaned out, transitions implemented, and we have already completed our first board meeting with a board retreat. Thank you to Jane Haase for sharing her practical approach and insight with the board with regard to our strategic plan.
We are reaching more people than ever with two new media platforms: our e-newsletter and our new website in progress. A special thank you to Cathy Foster and Anne Leazenby for taking the lead on such important communication tools.
As all of you know, Impact 100's mission is to significantly transform lives in the Greater Owensboro area through high-impact and lifelong giving. Our membership drive this year hopes to rejuvenate the spirit of Impact 100 with a new motto… “The Power of One”. One person, one dream and now well over one million dollars later, we are a proven organization that will again change lives right here at home. But beyond that, the Power of One means even more. It means YOU, plus ONE: your ONE membership, and the POWER of bringing ONE new member with you. Honestly, imagine the possibilities and the lives we could change if we grew exponentially! I encourage you to attend the Membership Campaign Kickoff with a friend on January 26. The excitement will be contagious, I promise!!!
In closing, I would like to commend the past leaders, and all members of Impact 100, past and present. We have been groundbreaking in our vision, courageous in our drive and unstoppable in our commitment. A special thank you to Debbie Nunley for her impeccable leadership as President over these last two years. Impact 100’s passion is contagiously apparent and our focus on success has never been more diligent. Now together, let’s do something wonderful!!!
Remember, The Power of One…. It all begins with YOU!
IMPACT 100 President
A Letter From Jean Yewell,
2012 Membership Chair
Have you received your invitation for the Membership Reception on Thursday, January 26? If not, expect it in the next few days. It will be a fun party and we would love for you to be there even if you have attended in the past. Those of you that attended our 2011 Annual Meeting in October will remember my request that each current member recruit one new member in 2012. The Membership Reception is the perfect time to reach out to a prospective new member. I am asking that each of you pass your invitation on to your "One" and encourage her to attend the party with you. We can multiply the power of our mailing if each of you share your invitation and act as our ambassador explaining to your friends we want them as members.
With our 2012 motto, "The Power of One" we are celebrating you, your one friend and your donation. There are many women in the greater Owensboro area that undoubtedly would enjoy being a part of Impact 100 but we do not know them. Help us to share our mission and sustain our community impact. All women are invited to join, no exceptions! Our growth is dependent on "The Power of One" to reach out and maximize our potential. Come join the excitement and watch the possibilities materialize right in front of your eyes and remember to return your signed membership form soon. See you at the party!

Did You Know?....
Pat Jones, 2012 Grants Chair
Now is the time for local non-profit agencies to begin "dreaming". Not in a fanciful way, but as a vision for how their organizations can best serve their clients. IMPACT 100's purpose is to support that vision by awarding as many $100,000 grants as membership allows.
You can get the word out to charities that you support to apply for an IMPACT 100 grant. Philanthropic expert, Jamie Levy, will kick-off this process with a workshop on Grant Writing on Tuesday, March 6th, from 8:00 - 10:30 AM at Settle Memorial's ROC (202 E. 4th Street). Jamie will share his expertise as well as lead a panel discussion of grant writing do's and don'ts. Copies of the IMPACT 100 grants will be available along with timelines and information on the review process.
IMPACT 100 members are welcome to attend and raise their awareness of the issues facing philanthropic groups as these charitites look for ways to make "dreams" come true.
