A Word from The President...
Women of IMPACT 100 Owensboro, by now you have received a vital mailing including Finalists' Summaries, the Site Visits Schedule, and, for those of you who must absolutely be absent from the Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 24, an absentee ballot. If you haven't yet perused your packet of information, please do!
The time has come!
Signing up and joining with IMPACT 100 was one of the most important decisions you could have made this year. You are now holding the hands of more than 230 other women whose hopes and commitments are the same as yours: to IMPACT Owensboro in a way that changes lives.
But your participation did not end with the delivery of your membership form and your generous financial contribution. While it was beautiful, it was only the beginning.
The rest - and the best! - is now upon us.
Please make every effort to study, to inquire into, and to be informed about our four finalists. Each finalist and its representatives have diligently prepared materials that tell in the best way possible the story of their organization. To honor their efforts, their work, and their dream of doing more for our community with an IMPACT 100 Owensboro grant, please do your part to be as informed as possible about our finalists - what they do, how they do it, and what they hope to accomplish with our help.
Also, as important as your thorough reading of the finalists' summaries is your attendance at the Site Visits. These organizations have a dream, and they need our attention and our interest to help them to achieve it. Site Visits are where you have the opportunity to see first hand the daily goings-on of the organizations we will be supporting. Do not take your Focus Group's or your friends' word for it. Rather, show up, get involved, ask questions, and walk in their shoes for an hour. Then, using all the information you have worked hard to obtain, come to the Annual Meeting and vote.
On Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 5:30 PM at the Owensboro Country Club, IMPACT 100 Owensboro will gather for its 2013 Annual Meeting. There, you will hear the stories that have emerged as most life-giving this year and you will get to cast your vote for the organizations whose purpose, mission, and hope best match the mission of IMPACT 100 Owensboro.
It doesn't get any better than this.
You are IMPACT 100 Owensboro.
It is yours to do now.
Joy Allen, President
