Take advantage of exciting new Chamber opportunities next month

By Keith Bradford, WOCC Chairman

Keith Bradford, WOCC ChairmanAs the business world continues to evolve, the West Orange Chamber is providing new and exciting opportunities for members to build their businesses. This month, members can take part in two of our newest events.

The WOCC’s popular Celebrating Extraordinary Women series debuted in 2016, and returns on April 20 at the Co-Op Ballroom at the Roper Garden Building. This event provides West Orange’s leading women the opportunity to share ideas and gain inspiration from other successful businesswomen, in a fun and casual environment. We are thrilled to welcome two of the area’s most accomplished women, Congresswoman Val Demings and former U.S. Surgeon General Antonia Novello. Guests will enjoy hearing about the experiences of each of our guest speakers, with plenty of time for cocktails and conversation.

On April 27, we will host the first iteration of our brand new series, Chamber Interactive Live. This series, sponsored by Lek Technology Consultants, brings our Chamber411 event into the next generation. Now, we’re bringing educational opportunities to you in an easily accessible, fun and free-flowing format via Facebook Live. Learn how to take advantage of your many Chamber benefits from your own computer or mobile device! As always, this event will include plenty of opportunities for questions and conversation during and after the presentation.

Each year, the Education Committee of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce honors students from Chamber schools with S.O.A.R. Awards. S.O.A.R. “Students of Achievement and Renown” is an award of merit, recognizing students who have shown initiative, good citizenship, commitment and personal growth in the classroom.
At the WOCC Education Awards, in honor of this achievement, each S.O.A.R. Award winner receives a bronze medallion with his or her name shown on the back. This year's ceremony will be held Monday, May 8 at Evans High School.
