Dance On It Studios Newsletter

January 2017
We hope you have all had a restful and joyful Christmas holiday! We are excited for everything coming up in 2017 for Dance On It so without further ado, please read the following newsletter carefully to make sure you're all caught up.  Classes start back on Wednesday January 4th (there are no classes on Monday January 2nd or Tuesday January 3rd).
Purdy's Chocolate Fundraiser

We would love to thank you so much for your support of our dancers through the Purdy's Chocolate Fundraiser. Students raised over $600 for their festival and costume fees this year. We so appreciate everyone's support as it enables our students to afford these extra expenses. We hope you enjoyed your chocolates!

The Nutcracker
In our last newsletter, we missed congratulating Banks Parenteau who was also one of our Dance On It students selected to perform in the Nutcracker this year! She did a fantastic job as a polar bear (as did all our Dance On It dancers). Congratulations, Banks!

Attendance Reminder
For several reasons, attendance in dance classes so far this year has been poorer than usual. We know there has been a lot of illness going around but we want to remind everyone that consistent attendance and participation in class is of utmost importance. This not only instills a sense of discipline and perseverance in students, it is crucial as we are now preparing for performance season. Please consider this a reminder that if a student misses more than 3 classes once they have begun preparing for performances, they will not be able to perform in festival, recital or any other performances.  We need everyone's dedication and commitment in order to ensure quality performances.

Please also be reminded that if students are dressed to dance they will be expected to participate fully in their classes. If they are truly too sick to dance they should either watch class (especially if it is a performance class) or they should be at home recovering. Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Teacher Email Addresses
As well as ensuring students attend and participate in all classes, this is also a friendly reminder to please email the correct teacher for your child's class to inform them if your child is not going to be in class. Please make sure to email each teacher that is affected, as we are not able to pass the message along from the office.

Teachers' individual email addresses can be found on our website here. Save their addresses in your address book so it's easy to contact them when needed. We really appreciate your cooperation in this matter, as it is really difficult for teachers to plan classes without knowing if a student will not be attending. Thank you!

New Addition!

Congratulations to Katrina and Jason Nassichuk as they will be welcoming their first baby at the end of May 2017! We are so excited for this new member of the Dance On It family!

Costume Cost Fundraising
Bottle Drive/Thrifty Foods

Please bring your bottles from the holidays and put them at the end of the hall by the studio.  If there are a large amount you can leave them in a sealed bag behind the building.

We have had a very slow start to the year with the Thrifty Foods Smile Card program.  This year we will be applying all the funds raised directly to the cost of students costumes so it really means money in your pocket.  Please try to remember to use the cards and promote them to your friends and family.
