Input to BOS
Hi Everyone, Mark Menne mentioned in our last meeting that the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors (BOS) is asking for input on how we would like to see them spend the $149 million they collected from PGE for their role in the 2017 fires. Here is a short article from the Patch that discusses the process. I have to admit that this one got by me! I have heard that the deadline may be extended from this Friday 9/4 to 9/11 though I have not had confirmation of this yet. Supervisor Gore's office would be able to answer that question. I am attaching a couple of letters below from other COPE communities for you to see and model your letter after. It would be great to have letters from each of our COPE communities and ideally, signatures from our residents and/or COPE neighborhood leaders.. Some of our communities will not be able to participate right now as they are either still evacuated in some cases or just home. It is up to the rest of us to speak up on their behalf.
Send letters to: PGECommunityInput@sonoma-county.org and District4@sonoma-county.org
When this issue is on the agenda it is really important that we also provide public comment via email or verbally during the BOS meeting. Here is the link for more details.
Speak up! After what we have been through the last 4 years and all the work we have been doing as a COPE Leaders, we have a lot to say about how this money should be spent. Here are a couple of letters for you to see from others:
Send me yours so I know you have participated.
Take care, Priscilla
