Supporting others to keep in touch with their (horticultural) roots

The MBF is proud to support Communigrow with £5,662 funding in the run-up to the 2020 festival, hosted by the Mark Province of Kent.
This educational charity uses horticulture to reconnect people with where their food comes from. Learning, teaching and sharing are core aspects - food production, conservation and well-being. They needed funding for a log cabin to replace a marquee to be used for a variety of purposes including preparation of veg boxes, a place to meet and shelter from the elements when required, and a secure and safe area particularly for vulnerable young people and volunteers.

Knight of the Realm & Worthy Knight......

In late January, Sir David Wootton, UGLE's Assistant Grand Master, was in Gillingham, at Kent Conclave No.392, who hosted the Appendant Orders ceremony to confer the Orders of the Holy Sepulchre and of St John the Evangelist on 12 Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine.
The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Grand Sovereign, M.Ill.Kt. Graham Flight G.C.C., who carried out the accolade on the new Knights. It will no doubt be a treasured memory for all of them, especially as he arranged to present them with their certificates  - a unique occasion.
The Red Cross of Constantine welcomes members who are both Craft and Royal Arch Masons.
Intendant-General for Kent, R.Ill.Kt. Nick Alder, was delighted that the attendance of Sir David Wootton continues to clearly demonstrate the very close links that the Order has with the rulers in the Craft.

#Tweet of the Week

By far the most 'popular' tweet of this week, and a good example of the popularity of our 'specialist' Lodges - and not just those in the Craft
Facebook Post of the Week

Hopefully not newsjacking on the back of Ciara and Dennis but the enduring appeal of this lovely Order. Don't just take my word for it - all Mark Masons will love the Royal Ark Mariner degree.

#Friday Feeling
It's good to feel liked and followed - Mark Masons' Hall and our Grand Secretary are no exception. One of the very powerful ways of building awareness and consideration towards our ten Orders is to establish a presence on social media - Facebook and Twitter are a good start - and to have that conversation with your members and potential candidates.
We would also like to share our appreciation of the great work you are all doing - please email us on communications@mmh.org.uk with your Facebook and Twitter details. This will ensure that we like, share, follow and retweet in return - all emails will be acknowledged.
Thank you.
