Hong Kong Royal Ark Mariners support Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital

Members of two RAM lodges visited the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital and distributed the stuffed toys that were donated at their installation banquets - the animals that "went into the Ark two-by-two" were displayed on the banquet tables.

They also presented the HK$69,600 donation made by the MBF during the summer following the visit by the Assistant Grand Master.  The metatherapy treatment machine has not yet been delivered, but the virtual reality headsets are now under trial with the staff and patients.

A Message from M.Dist.Comp. Ian Currans, Grand Summus,
Scarlet Cord

2019 has been a special year for our Constitution. More Companions in Scarlet Cord than ever before and 12 new Consistories consecrated. There have been conferrals of the 4th, 5th and 6th Grades, installations of new Provincial and District Grand Summi, a Provincial reconstitution and banner dedication. My grateful thanks to all who have worked so hard, either in their own Consistories, their Provinces/Districts or at Grand level. Especial thanks to Frank, Howard, Phillip, Trevor, Ryan, Paul, Jacquie, Katherine and Lennie, whose support has been immense.
2020 promises to be just as exciting, with another large number of new Consistories in the planning stage.

Not quite 'Goose' and 'Maverick' - but it was the 'Top Gun' Dinner

The 4th Annual AAC-AFA 'Top Gun' Dinner was held as usual in the Royal Air Force Club where the events arranger, host, and Commanding Officer (CO) W.Bro. Paul D. Fitzgerald, is a member.
He is pictured presenting a cheque for £1,000 to R.W.Bro. Tom Quinn (ProvGM Mark Province of London).

Crisis UK and the MBF - not just for Christmas

On 19 December, Darren Coleman-Heald and MBF Trustee, Edward Lord OBE,
paid a visit to the Crisis offices in Aldgate, London to present them with £5,000 on behalf of the Mark Benevolent Fund. This will pay for 173 'Crisis for Christmas' places, each costing just £28.87.

As well as a hot meal and a feeling of belonging at Christmas, it will be the opportunity to introduce each person to the education, training and support to help end their homelessness for good through Crisis’ year-round services crisis.org.uk

#Tweet of the Week

Sometimes, the simple straightforward messages are the most engaging - this one Tweet reached an audience which was six times greater than we achieved in the whole month of July.
Facebook Post of the Week

Testimony to the historical heritage and enduring 'chivalric' appeal of this Order, with a very strong following and loyal membership.

#Friday Feeling
It's good to feel liked and followed - Mark Masons' Hall and our Grand Secretary are no exception. One of the very powerful ways of building awareness and consideration towards our ten Orders is to establish a presence on social media - Facebook and Twitter are a good start - and to have that conversation with your members and potential candidates.
We would also like to share our appreciation of the great work you are all doing - please email us on communications@mmh.org.uk with your Facebook and Twitter details. This will ensure that we like, share, follow and retweet in return - all emails will be acknowledged.
Thank you.
