Greetings <<First Name>>, welcome to this week's newsletter!

What's in a name?

This week i took a walk up to Cissbury Ring (pictured above), a place of historic interest and home to some of the oldest trees in the country. Aaaah lovely.

However, over the years all i have heard about Cissbury Ring is that it is a dark place, a location of human sacrifice, death and evil. Creepy!

So, based on what i had heard, i expected a certain vibe to the place. Some sense of gravity, of sorrow, maybe some feeling of a dark shadow over the area. Instead all i felt was profound peace and calm. The ring of trees felt like a shelter, a place of safety not in the least oppressive. The beautiful silence of nature not the heavy silence of the grave.

Too often, i think, we prejudge things, places, even people, based on what we have heard. Buying in to reputation as fact, instead of what it actually is, others opinions. I always try to make up my own mind on things, based on my experience, not that of others. Of course it doesnt always happen (see above) but i succeed more often than not, especially when it comes to people.

These days, more than ever, we need to be careful about judging people based on what we hear. I hope, as we begin to spend more time out and about, that we can all get to know others better, find out for ourselves what they are like, not just follow the "I've heard ....." crowd.

Have a blessed, fun and friendly week.

Andrew
