It’s finally summer! Great news for the Resolve team – we’ve already had two lunchtime bbqs and plenty of ice cream. The past few weeks have also included a coffee and cake morning and a Microsoft workshop. Anyway, back on the summer theme, we’ve got tech to help you out with these common holiday problems…

I've lost my phone on the beach...
Easily done among all the sand dunes, and there is always the chance someone has been rummaging in your bag when you went for a dip in the sea. Wonderfully, ESET has a tool that includes GPS tracking, the capability to wipe the phone's data remotely and a facility that completely locks the device to a new SIM. Plus, it is a nifty virus stopper. It might not be suncream - but we think it's a must if you're thinking of taking your phone out-and-about this summer.

I need to respond to an urgent email...
Occasionally, on holiday, there is the need to respond to an urgent business email. And Office 365 makes this super easy, especially if you install the app on your phone. It doesn't matter whether you are reclining on the beach or sailing a pedalo, all you need is an internet connection to access emails. If you need to do a little more work - like speak to colleagues over Skype or edit documents - Office 365 can help you out there too.

I've been sat in the sun too long...
Is probably a phrase that is commonly heard on the beach (perhaps not in England, but certainly in hotter climes!) This sort of issue can now be averted however, by the use of a handy app called Wolfram Sun Exposure that calculates how long you should be out in the sun based on your complexion, location and SPF. In fact, there's a whole load of apps that can help you with all aspects of holidaying - including packing, planning and activities.
