Bust A Move Dance
Bust a Move Dance is an Australian born social business offering dance classes for children, teens and adults with disabilities.

Currently operating a second branch in Toronto, Canada, the vision for BAMD is that people of all abilities feel equal and powerful in the world, and that these individuals are provided with an opportunity to participate in and express themselves in an environment which is safe, but also stimulates personal growth in a creative manner. BAMD aims to do this through the vehicle of dance, encouraging these young people to become independent within their own communities and in turn develop their self-confidence and self purpose.

BAMD Goals:

  • Adapted/inclusive dance classes in accessible locations across the GTA.
  • Customised workshops in various genres for ALL ages and ability levels.
  • Dance parties & events, let us come and party with you guys, run a workshop, or simply have a chat about future idea's!
  • Performance Opportunities. Our performance crew is a large part of our BAMD classes and community integration.

Winter Drama Workshops

Winter workshops begin December 1st (no classes over the holidays), and our next weekly workshops won't run until April 2019. If you are not already registered, join us! If you are, yay! We're looking forward to it.

Please see upcoming workshop details below:

Ages 2-5
Theme: Under the Sea

Dive into dramatic play while acting out new stories each week. We'll explore stories such as: Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle, Whale in a Fishbowl by Troy Howell, Stella, Star of the Sea by Marie-Louise Gay, and Disney's The Little Mermaid. Let's dance, act and play together -  "We've got no troubles, life is the bubbles under the sea!"

Ages 6-10
Theme: Toy Story
Ever wonder what happens to your toys when you're not around? Imagine they had a secret life; their own relationships, challenges and dreams - all hidden behind closed doors. Inspired by Disney's classic film trilogy Toy Story, join us for an adventure inside the inner life of your favourite toys. Help Buzz, Woody, Rex and the other toys as they search for freedom!
Let's create our own version of this beloved story with our new friends.

Ages 9-12
Theme: Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Attempting to handle challenges creatively is one of Greg Heffley's strengths...but things don't always turn out the way he plans. Join Greg, Rowley, Manny and Rodrick in their struggles and triumphs at school, home and daydreams!

Teens & Young Adults
Theme: Alice in Wonderland

'Curiouser and Curiouser!' Leap down the rabbit hole and enter a magical land with your new friends! Meet the Mad-Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire cat. Create your very own dreamland adventure through improvisation, movement and dance. What other fantastical characters can we dream up?

Active Start & FUNdamentals Programs

Active Start is a program aimed at children 2-6 years of age with an intellectual disability (ID). When children with an ID receive early instruction in basic motor skills and have the opportunity to experience ‘play,’ there is improvement in their physical, social and cognitive abilities.

FUNdamentals is a program aimed at children 7-12 years of age with an intellectual disability. The program is a follow-up to the Active Start program and includes more sport specific related skills that will contribute to future sport participation.

Both  programs aim to educate parents and caregivers about the value of sport in their child’s life and expand their networks and support systems.

DSAT WhatsApp Group
We now have a DSAT WhatsApp group. If you are interested and active on WhatsApp, please click the following link to join: https://chat.whatsapp.com/HTmF6H9B90lCVAKjlRLsWw.

What is WhatsApp?
It is a "cross-platform mobile messaging app." It works on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia — and those phones can all message each other. It uses the same Internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, so there is no cost to message

Messaging
It is simple, secure and a reliable messaging App and can be downloaded on all Smart Phones.

Security by Default
Some of your most personal moments are shared on WhatsApp, which is why we built end-to-end encryption into the latest versions of our app. When end-to-end encrypted, your messages and calls are secured so only you and the person you're communicating with can read or listen to them, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp.
