Roundtable Discussion
with Seecum Cheung & Morgan Quaintance

Join us for a roundtable discussion with Seecum Cheung, who will be joined by Morgan Quaintance, with whom she collaborated to make her film The Dutch Window, currently on show at Grand Union.

They will be discussing the process that brought The Dutch Window to fruition. From decisions surrounding the methodology of interviewing, to the formal aspects of shooting and filming, participants will have a rare opportunity to learn more about the key aspects of production of the work - and the characters that played a role in its development.

Free lunch will be provided, and all are welcome.

OPPORTUNITY: Studio Expansion
at Grand Union

Grand Union is creating four new studios, available to rent from August 2017. We are looking for artists who will be active users of the space and committed to participating in open studio events. The studios are part of an expansion that includes a co-working space for BCU graduates and Modern Clay, a new artist-led ceramics facility.

OPPORTUNITY: Ceramic Residency 2017 at Modern Clay

Modern Clay are inviting applications from early- career West Midland based artists (up to 5 years since MA, or 10 years since BA) who wish to develop their practice within ceramics.

There are 6 residencies available for 2 months. 3 artists from August to September and 3 from September to October.

OPPORTUNITY: BCU Graduate Residencies at Grand Union

In partnership with Birmingham City University, Grand Union is offering the opportunity for four BCU Art and Design graduates free co-working space for 12 months. Selected residents will benefit from 24 hour access to a free shared workspace and mentoring from Grand Union's Curatorial team.

The residencies will begin on 1 August. New studio holders will be invited to take part in a launch and open studios event on Friday 1 September 2017.

To be eligible, you must have graduated from an Art & Design course at BCU in the last five years (earliest graduating 2012).
