Selected participants will interface with the state’s bioscience ecosystem and explore how it operates, through the generous support of regional companies serving as hosts. The students will hear directly from subject-matter experts from Merck Animal Health, KCAS Bioanalytical & Biomarker Services, the Bioscience and Technology Business Center, Likarda, Hovey Williams LLP, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and the Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association. These experiences will increase participants’ awareness and exposure to different work environments and company cultures, all while expanding their professional networks.

The Industry Immersion Program, funded by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Guidance for Trainees Award and BioKansas, will help address the challenges faced by early career scientists transitioning into the private sector.
