3 Points To Ponder

1.
"Taking time to celebrate the wins in our life is just as important as hard work, as the reward cements the habit. How do you systematically build celebration into your life?"

2.
"Feeling guilty about celebrating accomplishments is a lie to keep you in bondage. It robs the joy of the now. How difficult is it for you to celebrate the moment? What is the root of this?"

3.
"Ringing a bell allows others to hear something special. Something different. The same goes for joy in your life when you let others participate in it. Your joy spills onto them, multiplying joy. When was the last time you let others experience your joy?"

1.
“It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.” - Marianne Williamson

2.
“Celebrate your small wins! Build that momentum!” -Silvica Rosca

1 Story of Impact

On June 14, I shared about my then 20-year-old niece, Summer, and her diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. On Thursday, September 29, after six chemo treatments and all its side effects, she proudly rang the bell before walking out of the oncology unit, declaring she is 100% cancer free! The doctors will continue to monitor her closely over the next year, but there is victory over one of the worst enemies in our lifetime. Watching the video of her ringing the bell got me thinking about when was the last time I rang the bell in my life to truly celebrate something great? Do I pause to celebrate? To use the words of board member Eric Recker, do I win the now of being fully present in a world full of distraction and negativity? The very fact I exist is a miracle in itself, when I realize in this vastness of our universe, on this tiny speck of dirt, life was given to me. Take some time today to reflect on those "ring the bell" moments of your life. We all have them, even if we didn't realize them at the moment. Remember, those moments give evidence of an identity God is building into us to guide our future. When we are overwhelmed or distracted, these moments can ground us to stay true, becoming a cornerstone of the life we want to build. Don't run by the bell. Ring it for the most important person in the world to hear - yourself.
