BOARD VACANCIES

The City advertises “vacancies” for all boards as terms expire, providing for the opportunity for those who would like to “toss their hat in the ring” to apply, as well as we send a letter asking the current board member if they wish to be reconsidered for another term.

One vacancy exists on the Three Forks Rodeo Arena Board of Directors. This term would be for three years and would expire on June 30, 2023.

We are in still searching for a volunteer to represent the more rural residents of Three Forks on the Zoning & Planning Board.  Two vacancies exist on this board: both must be Gallatin County representatives who must live within the 1-mile jurisdiction.  This term is for two years and would expire on December 31, 2021.

If you are interested in serving on any of these boards, please complete the board application available at City Hall or on the City’s website at

www.threeforksmontana.us  and return it to City Hall.  And of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 285-3431.

Gallatin Valley Health Department
latest COVID announcement

For immediate release: November 6, 2020

Press Release Board of Health Enacts

At a Friday, Nov. 6 meeting, the Gallatin City-County Board of Health revised a local health rule that includes new restrictions on certain businesses intended to slow transmission of COVID-19. The new restrictions went into effect on Friday.

The Board approved measures to address the rapidly rising level of COVID-19 disease in Gallatin County and throughout Montana. Gallatin County has seen rapid, widespread, and sustained increases in new cases of COVID-19, hospitalizations, and outbreaks in several long-term care facilities for seniors. The rising level of disease is pushing hospitals in some Montana communities and neighboring states to near capacity, causing dozens of COVID-19 outbreaks in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Montana, and driving up the number of deaths of those who contract the disease. More than 230,000 Americans stricken with COVID-19 have died since March.

The Board approved revisions to an emergency rule that governs how certain businesses – including bars, restaurants, gyms and fitness centers, and places of assembly – operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes are intended to limit close contact between people and include:

  • ●  Moving the mandatory closing time for bars, tasting rooms, distilleries, casinos, and restaurants from 12:30 AM to 10 PM, and limiting group size at tables to 6 people;

  • ●  Requiring that higher-risk businesses – such as gyms/fitness centers, places of assembly, bars, restaurants, distilleries, casinos – limit the number of patrons to 50% of capacity. The Board’s current local emergency rules allow these businesses to operate at 75% of capacity;

  • ●  Limiting most physical group gatherings in Gallatin County to no more than 25 individuals, regardless of the ability to physically distance. This restriction applies to both indoor and outdoor events. Currently, the Board of Health allows groups of up to 50 people without social distancing, and larger groups if social distancing can be accommodated.

    The rule revisions include exceptions for certain businesses and organizations where social distancing is most feasible, including houses of worship and certain places of assembly.

    The restrictions will be in effect for 90 days or until the board revokes or modifies the rule based on certain epidemiological metrics.

As you know, the 2020 Three Forks Rodeo was one we were really looking forward to (and we hope you were too). We couldn't wait for you to enjoy the rodeo from our brand new grandstands. But unfortunately, COVID changed our plans.

While we can't get together in person, we would ask that you consider donating the $15 you would have spent on your rodeo ticket to the fundraising efforts for the new bleachers.
Your tax-deductible donation towards this project will have a significant impact on the community and will be appreciated by rodeo goers for years to come.

Of course it's more than just a donation.

Added benefits to donors include advance opportunities at reserved seats for 2021 and a number of appreciation awards to be given out weekly starting in September leading up to the 2020
No Go Rodeo virtual event in December.
