What we learned
& PRODUCT INFO
  • Unryu & deli paper are good for stamping or applying text, then gluing on as they disappear easily.
  • Do sketches on tracing paper, then transfer for cleaner layers
  • Use 1311 Krylon spray, lightly applied to seal & prevent bleeding or smearing. Don't apply when cold or damp outside.
  • Great surfaces include, illustration board, aqua board by Ampersand, wood panels, canvas. Each has different qualities
  • Rub ons work great at craft stores
  • Matte medium will dull or cloud layers especially gold leaf but provides good tooth for writing, sketches etc.
  • Use hair dryer or heat gun carefully as it will bubble but can be a good tool. Be sure each layer is dry. Watch the 'danger zone'.
  • Try embossing powders on tissue or other papers first so as not to melt the canvas or paint. then apply with medium.
  • Gather what you have and prepare ahead for paints & tools to have at hand especially as paint dries quickly. Use hair dryer to set a specific look. as it may dissolve or dry differently.
  • Use a clear varnish at the end to seal. Attach safety pin with rubber band to bottle to keep handy for popping air bubbles.
