May 26    Set up & Details

I think you guys talked me into doing the painting by Lillian Genth
A chance to cover Figurative, Landscape & Still Life
CANVAS: This would be a great large painting to do. I will be doing it in my sketchbook though at 9x12. So whatever size you choose will be fine.
Be sure the dimensions are similar. Original painting is 66 x 54.25.  There are no standard sizes on the proportional scale that will fit but I think these will work ok 9x12, 11x14, or 16x20

TONE: I would tone the entire canvas or paper in medium blue. Oil if you have time to let it dry. Acrylic is also fine. The color of the sky on upper left of window shade. NOT TOO DARK. A wash of medium to light blue.
DRAWING: You can use paint or charcoal for the drawing stage
COLORS: I will plan to use the same palette we used for Sargent and may add a few colors as needed. (Permanent Rose)
Titanium White, Prussian Blue, Vermillion, Burnt Sienna or Indian red, Yellow ochre & Raw Sienna

CLASS AGENDA:  Have your canvas toned, paint out and ready to begin. We will draw next week & lay in the background landscape and porch. Then just block in and blur the rest, (figure and flower pot). I think we can work together on this. I will have a video if possible and stop in at each of these 3 stages to give you time. We will begin at 9:30 and try to finish by noon.  Will go faster if you work small.
