Share's Evening in the Garden

In association with the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce

Huge thanks to everyone who attended Share's Evening in the Garden party on 17th June, and helped to make the evening such a success.

RebeccaParticular thanks to Rachel, Rebecca, Hannah, Joyce and Jodian, our catering graduates and now members of the Share Catering team, who all did a grand job on the night and did us very proud indeed!

Jodian and TreblemakersThank you also to Treblemakers who sang for us during the evening, including a special rendition of Happy Birthday for one of the stars of the evening, Jodian – who chose to work on his's that for dedication?!

The Share Garden, where all of Share's horticulture training is carried out, provided the perfect backdrop for a summer party and looked absolutely stunning, thanks to all of the gardening team.

The event provides an opportunity for us to show off the great work our students do and also to say thank you to our partners, sponsors and others in the local community who continue to support us, and without whom we couldn't achieve all that we do.

Here are just a few photos from the event. Check out more photos on our Facebook page.

Congratulations and thank you to Daniel for running for Share

Bupa London 10kEveryone at Share is so very proud of Daniel McGuane, a previous Share student, who ran the Bupa London 10k race for Share last month.

New homes for birds, bees and bugs!

Share has embarked on a new project – building bird, bee and bug boxes, the first prototypes of which are now complete!

The boxes are made by Share students under the tutelage of Richard, who himself was previously a Share student and who continues to volunteer in the Share Garden.

This project has been made possible with the help of Neal's Yard Remedies, who provided funding for the raw materials, and follows on from their sponsorship of Share's now well-established Bee Lovely Garden within the Share Garden.

Over the coming months, we hope to work on more great designs, and gradually step up production to eventually start selling the products to the public.

Share in the community

Summer is a particularly busy time for Share, as we get out and about in the community.

The Share Garden for Open Garden Squares WeekendAs well as catering for many local and business events, and fulfilling local gardening contracts, Share opened up the Share Garden for Open Garden Squares Weekend on 13th and 14th June to promote both Share Gardening and Share Catering.

We also attended the Big Local SW11 Jobs and Training Fair on 18th June, and the Lambeth Health and Wellbeing Strategy Event on 25th June to promote Share's training and employment services.

You will also see us at the Winstanley and York Gardens Festival on 27th June 2015 between noon and 5pm, when Share Catering will be bringing a taste of the Caribbean to Battersea with some traditional Jamaican Jerk and Barbeque Chicken (veggie kebabs and freshly grilled sweetcorn also available!). So, pop along and say hello...and pick up a little something special to share.
