Welcome to CALABAR GALLERY.
Just a brief reminder.
Our AUCTION IS OPEN FOR BIDDING.
We showcase contemporary African Artists and African Diaspora artists globally. Based in Harlem, work featured is inspired and influenced by black African culture globally with a focus on dynamic ideas about art and society.
In the last year, if you have purchased work from us, as curator and founder, I personally thank you as the business of art and galleries like everything else has been challenging.
Please visit our gallery site for our Art Sale, we have added new work and over the next few weeks, we will add sections on: Art Fairs, Prints, and about the 2 Apps we are developing, one on Auctions and the other on Harlem Murals.
One major project we have been quietly working on is assisting, building and expanding art collections for Black Women. It is a simple idea: buy a piece of art every 2 months, so, 6 per year. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org of how to participate. It is imperative that Black artists are in these collections, so, we will continue to curate dynamic selections of work that should be bought, collected and grow our artists towards these collectors.
Join me on this journey, help me by sharing the work we are doing, tell a friend, tell a colleague, and be our village town crier. Yes, our business does well with referrals, that word of mouth scenario is most effective. So even sharing this newsletter to 3 other people is HUGE.
Finally, we are again seeking COLLABORATIONS, more details below.
Stay healthy, safe and spread the word about our gallery. It takes you to grow artists and galleries. #maskup #wearamask Don't be a Covid-19 super spreader, be an African and African Disporan Art Spreader. Yes, we need some humor now.
We are excited to present our first Ghanaian Artists Auction.
