We have been given Mayor Johnson’s approval to continue the Hudson Farmers Market.
On Wednesday, March 18th, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order which states that, like grocery stores, farmers’ markets are exempt from mandatory closures since they provide essential services to the local food supply. This means we WILL be operational, but with safety measures in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.
With that said, here are a couple major bullets:
🥔 We will be moving themarket outside at 601 Union Street. Hours are still the same— 10am to 1pm.
🥖 We will ensure that there is adequate space between vendors to allow for easy movement of customers while accommodating the distancing suggested by the CDC.
🍎 Vendors will be taking precautions at their stands by discontinuing sampling and wearing gloves/regularly sanitizing.
🥕 We will be asking you to come only if you feel comfortable and if you are not sick or have been exposed to the virus. If you're not feeling well, please ask a family member or friend to pick up essentials for you.
🧄 Vendors who have confirmed: Blue Star Farm, Ardith Mae Farmstead, Cedar Flower Farm, Cooperstown Cheese, Hawk’s Roost Farm, Martin Farms, The Farm at Miller’s Crossing, Samascott Orchard, Spacey Tracy’s Pickles, and Trixie’s Oven. We are waiting to hear from a few more and we will update you once we have our set list.
This situation is certainly unprecedented. And, as you’re experiencing in real time, we’re all kind of fumbling through the dark trying to figure out how to manage. So as a community, we’re going to have to work together to ensure each other’s safety. We need to be diligent about how we’re handling our contact with both customers and our supply.
