Confession - Lately, I have not been reading (or on social media) as I'd usually be. I am in the process of renovating, packing and planning a move... and in this household that also involves moving 9-ton of letterpress machines and type (so is quite a monumental task!) I have never discounted TYPOgraphJournal before (as my margins are super tight) - but with my hands full cleaning, packing and juggling lead type, I decided to have my first (and last!) sale to minimise stuff to move. (Lazy right?!) For the next few weeks you can pick up copies of vols 01-04 of TYPOgraphJournal for $10 each here.

22nd of July I am facilitating an ideation workshop for QUT (open to the public) and targeted at anyone interested in design thinking, generating creative ideas, and/or branding. No prior experience required, and you don't need to think of yourself as a creative to generate creative ideas! I'd love to see you there.

Despite reading (and writing) less this month - I have a solid round-up from the world of type in the musings below. I also have a bumper backlog of projects and interviews to share with you over the coming months.

All the very inkiest of best wishes

Undoubtedly the biggest typonews down under is the fast approaching 2017 Typism event...

I spent an inky Saturday afternoon in the print pavilion with Malcolm Middleton to ink up the 2017 event dates. (I am really excited to be contributing some work to this year's event so keep an eye out for a new print I am producing - my 'Love Letter to Brisbane'.

Wayne Thompson announced another session of his Principles of Typeface Design program kicking off September 14 and running for 8 weeks. Carla Hackett and Barbara Enright are teaming up with the BetterLetters crew to host a two day Showcard Workshop in London 19th-20th August 2017.

You can see a photo essay style wrap up from my recent workshops with Design Assembly here, (with huge thanks to Lou Kellerman and Natasha Vermeulen for the photos... the below 'kittenCLAWS' outcome was one of Natasha's beautiful workshops sketches!)
Last but certainly not least - I also want to wish all my friends, clients and collaborators that picked up awards at the recent AIA and AILA awards my huge and heartfelt congratulations.
