Sailaway: Olive Knits 4 Day KAL

Olive Knits Annual 4 Day KAL draws together a community of knitters around the globe. This knit-a-long is about finishing a sweater faster than you thought you could — and doing it with the energy, enthusiasm, and the support of community. The theme is SAILAWAY!  (and no, you don't have to finish it in 4 days!)

Cabled Fiber & Yarn is a featured vendor for this event and has lots of yarn options for you to choose from.

The pattern will be available for purchase starting on May 26th.  MarySue made her sample out of Hampton - a great cotton and linen blend and it's lovely and ready for blocking.  The sweater is called Sailaway and while the KAL is called the 4 day Knit a long,  you don't have to finish in 4 days - but it is possible - just ask MarySue - she only took a week to complete hers (except for the cuff on the left sleeve).  The Sweater will be out in the store next week for you to see in person and pick out your yarn.  You can do your swatch in June to have everything set for cast on, on July 1.

We'll be updating details  on our website next week with suggested yarns for you to swatch in advance.

Can't wait until July  for a Knit Along? Let's cast on the Old Growth Cowl (Or the Old Growth Sweater version) in June (available on Ravelry). (more detail on dates to gather in person or online coming soon)

How to Participate:

  • Purchase a souvenir passport to be stamped at each yarn you visit.

  • Crawl from May 27 through Sept. 5, 2022 in-person or virtually (virtual visits must make a purchase to qualify)

  • Enter your name at every shop visited for the shop drawings. Visit every store in a Region and have your passport stamped/stickered to be entered for the Regional Prize Drawing

This year we'll have a fun activity for crawlers!  You'll have to participate to play!
