Grads, Dads, Legacies, and Israelis

What a rhymin' week!

1: Aaron Venger delivering his valedictorian address at this year's Commencement Ceremony
With a 4.3 GPA and 4 years of strong student leadership, Aaron Venger was awarded the valedictorian award at Tuesday's graduation. Aaron will be studying in Yeshivat Yishrei Lev in the fall and then continuing on to Yeshiva University. Raphi Shpitalnik was awarded the Ben Torah Award and the Nagel Scholarship to Yeshiva University and will be attending Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in the fall. We are so proud of them and all our graduates!

2: A photo of havdala from the recent Legacy Shabbaton
Each year, toward the end of the school year, the Adattos host the Legacy Shababton during which the entire student body spends one last Shabbat together before the seniors graduate. Before they leave, each senior passes down a legacy to the student body - they choose a value or idea that made their SCY High experience special and pass that value down to their peers.

3: Eyal Green receiving the Harry Tzvi Tabor award as part of the SCY High Engineering Fair
Harry Tzvi Tabor was an Israeli physicist known as the father of Israeli solar energy. He is generally credited with having brought Israel's solar energy program to international prominence. As part of our engineering fair, this special award was presented to the team whose project best used technology to benefit both mankind and the environment.  A special thank you to Commander Moss for the tremendous effort she invested to help our Engineering students maximize their potential!

4: Frankie Ziman (Class of 2009) holding his new baby daughter
Mazal Tov to Frankie and Yael Ziman on the birth of a baby girl earlier this week! Frankie, a member of the Class of 2009, was a SCY High Pioneer, a member of the original group of students whose brave decision to enroll in a high school which did not exist was an integral part of the creation of SCY High. We are happy to welcome the newest member of our SCY High family!
