0: A Sweet Way To Support Israel and SCY High School!
SCY High students will be selling beautifully wrapped 4.6oz bottles of Israeli honey (with dipper) for $10 a piece at Congregation Adat Yeshurun and Beth Jacob after Shacharit on Sunday, September 8th & 22nd as a fundraiser for the SCY High Parent Association. Honey is also available for sale at the school or by contacting Cheryl Horn at email@example.com.
1: Ms. Alba Martinez (Social Sciences) lecturing seniors on "Important Political Philosophers of the Modern Era"
As part of the introduction to our UC-accredited US Government course, students learn about the history and background that led to the advent of modern governmental structures and concepts. Following the introduction, students will study fundamental texts and the structure of the US Government in-depth and learn to interpret and analyze current events connected to our government.
2: Students preparing for Tefillah in the SCY High Beit Midrash
Each day, students start off their day with a spirited Tefillah (davening or prayer service). Tefillah is led by 3 student volunteers each day and the Kriat HaTorah is done by student volunteers as well. All this is coordinated by a student Gabbai. At the end of their 4 years at SCY High School, students are not only ready to lead Tefillah, but they are empowered to become leaders in their respective synagogues.
3: Raphi Shpitalnik (class of 2019) meeting his new peers and Rebbe in Israel
We are proud that Raphi will be spending the year studying in Yeshivat Lev HaTorah, located in Bet Shemesh, Israel. SCY High has a rich history at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah and we are excited to see how the Holy Land helps Raphi (and all our alumni spending time/living in Israel) grow!
4: Stacey Wechsler (mother of Steven, Adam, and Harrison and Parent Association Representative) addressing the parent body at our recent Back To School Night
SCY High is a family, and we're not just talking about the student body! Stacey has been one of our school moms for nearly 10 years, and we are so grateful for all the parents who continue to help our SCY High family feel the warmth and positivity of our community.
