Realness Institute partnership with Netflix to benefit African writers

Realness Institute just announced its partnership with Netflix to create an Episodic Content Development Lab for writers in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. The Writer’s Lab submission going live from 30th Nov 2020 will be open for writers with Film and TV experience in any genre (fictional or factual) or language. This partnership will result in 6 writers selected to work on episodic series that will be developed and commissioned by Netflix. The selected writers will be paid a stipend of 2,000 USD per month to participate and will be expected to be available full time for a period of 3 months, from June to September 2021.
Anto Neosoul is back with "fruity" EP - Matunda!

Kenyan singer-songwriter Anto Neosoul recently released a 4-track EP titled 'Matunda' (Swahili for fruits). Just like a fruit salad, this EP will hit you with different tastes and styles. From the melancholic and haunting “Chanda Na Pete” with Anto succinctly reminding us that he is a king at high notes and emotions, to the dancehall flavour filled “Shangararaisha”, “Whine” and “Balanced” - all the EP songs are worth adding into your musical salad - playlist if you like. The Mith's new album is an ode to Uganda!

Veteran Ugandan Hip-Hop artist, The Mith, dropped his highly anticipated third solo album: 'The Ugandan' through IMSOUG ltd. This new record exclusively produced by Ugandan Hip-hop producer, Koz-N-Effekt, features collaborations with a great mix of UG stars including Navio, Evon, Giovanni Kiyingi, Tucker HD, Martha Small and Herbert Ssensamba, among others. The Mith showcases the razor sharp lyricism that he’s celebrated for on the album, that also flaunts his storytelling ability and play with different genres and sounds. Introducing Kendickson of "Wayo" hit fame

Kendickson is one of the most sought-after new generation acts in the Nigerian music scene. The singer-songwriter has slowly grown his reputation with a slew of hit songs, including "Jojo" and "Blessings" with the most recent being “Wayo”. Kendrickson is a master at different music genres, from Afrobeat, Hip life, Contemporary to Jollof music. He showcases his diversity with each release. He says, “My music is influenced by my immediate environment and the quest in becoming the best of my kind. I hope my fans enjoy this single,” adding on message to his East African fans, "I want to assure all my East African fans that I have come to give you nothing but good music.”
