WEEK #26
16 to 22 July 2020

Hello! Here we go again selecting a beautiful fashion exhibition for you. A contemporary Hip-Hop album from an upcoming NYC female rapper. Plus a documentary of one of the most amazing underdogs of the American music scene of the seventies. A concert by the undisputable queen of Salsa, even on B/W is a demonstration of her showmanship and charisma. We read this article that analyses the comedy Starship Troopers in our current context, also, a great moment to re-watch it! Finally an online music festival with many of our favourite DJs from the last few years.

How “Starship Troopers” Aligns with Our Moment of American Defeat

👽 For most of Paul Verhoeven’s cult-classic film, humanity, in every possible facet, gets its ass kicked. It has become clear, in these last decades of decadence, decline, towering institutional violence, and rampant bad taste, that American life is stuck somewhere inside the Paul Verhoeven cinematic universe.
