Can you believe it's mid-October already? Summer's over, winter's coming. As the leaves turn autumnal, and our campus begins to look like Stars Hollow, it's time to start thinking about spring enrollment. So without further ado, here are some cool classes to think about adding to your schedule:

Spring 2017 Registration - are you ready?

So, you have browsed all those cool classes and are about to enroll in all of them? Hold your horses! Here are some easy steps to be better prepared and get the most out of your classes in the spring:

  1. Determine who is assigned as your Academic Advisor
  2. Determine your enrollment time for spring classes
  3. Check to see if you have enrollment holds on your account
  4. Schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor
  5. Prepare for your advising appointment 

Alumni Networking Night

What do you want to do when you graduate? Are you drawn to the non-profit sector? Or does sports administration appeal? Tomorrow night, there is a great opportunity to meet KU alumni who are now excelling in a wide variety of professions.

7 insider tips to rock fall semester:

  1. Meet your advisor 
  2. Enroll in a spring class outside your comfort zone
  3. Visit your professor's office hours at least once

Winter College
Be part of the College’s first winter session and get yourself one step closer to graduation! Running December 26th through January 20th, this online only session can be completed from anywhere. Find out all you need to know, here.

This stunning image is taken from an international award-winning film by KU visual art student Olivia Hernández. “To receive an award for my modest attempts at art-making feels like a cosmic ‘thumbs up’ from the universe and encourages me to continue making work that reflects my taste and interests,” she said on receiving the award. More here.

In a completely different part of campus, Italian and English major Ellen Bertels shared this pearl of wisdom: "Passionate students who actively pursue subjects and careers that inspire them have every opportunity for success." 

To put it mathematically: passion + hard work = success
