Physicians Address Why Advocacy Important to Preservation of Patient-Physician Relationship
Mark your calendars for the 2016 Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS) Annual Dinner meeting Tuesday, June 7. The event will be held at the William Penn Inn, Gwynedd. Drs. John and Alieta Eck will share the importance of political advocacy and address "Are Patients Really First? Thinking Outside of the Box To Restore the Patient-Physician Relationship." Plan to join us to network with colleagues, enjoy excellent food and hear great music. MCMS will also install new officers and recognize its 50-year members for the many years of service they have given to nurture this community.

Montgomery County Residents Receive Scholarships
MCMS awarded two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to two first-year medical students, Quan (Jack) Chen, of Audubon and Gregory T. Woods, of Lansdale. Chen attends The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton while Woods attends University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. This award is possible, thanks to contributions from MCMS members and area physicians. Bill Introduced to Reform Prior Authorization Process
A bill to reform the prior authorization process in Pennsylvania ― strongly supported by the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) ― was introduced by State Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks) on Feb. 9, 2016. She announced the bill’s introduction during her discussion with PAMED’s Specialty Leadership Cabinet that same day. Read more

Do you have a flair for writing? Are you passionate about a medical matters? Submit an article to be published in the MCMS Physician magazine.
