3 Ways to​ Oppose Senate Bill 25
Legislation that allows CRNPs to practice independently and eliminates the requirement that they collaborate with physicians was re-introduced in February 2017.

Physicians Reject House ACA Replacement Bill
The American Health Care Act (AHCA), released by Congress this week, is intended to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). But as introduced, it does not align with the health reform objectives that the AMA set forth in January to protect patients. While the ACA is imperfect, the current version of the AHCA is not legislation we can support.

The replacement bill, as written, would reverse the coverage gains achieved under the ACA, causing many Americans to lose the health care coverage they have come to depend upon. Read more.

Pa. Updates Medicaid's Medication Rules in Effort to Address Opioid Abuse
On March 6, 2017, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced changes to the medication rules for the state's Medicaid program (known as "Medical Assistance"). He said the changes are part of Pennsylvania's ongoing efforts to combat the opioid abuse crisis.

According to the announcement, Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services (DHS) will take the following actions for Medicaid providers.
