Hunter Douglas PowerView™ shades now work with Alexa!

PowerViewTM Motorization from Hunter Douglas can now be operated with simple voice commands using the Powerview Hub, Amazon Echo Alexa, Nest and IFTTT app! With this free app, you can even operate the windows treatments from anywhere in the world. To combine the three systems together for effortless window treatment operation, you just need to create your own IFTTT recipe. The goal is to create a recipe that allows you to speak a specific command to the Amazon Echo that will use the Hunter Douglas app to open or close window treatments with PowerViewTM Motorization. In addition, you can integrate the PowerViewTM Motorization with the Nest thermostat to automatically open or close your blinds depending on the room temperature through an IFTTT recipe. Call us for details or send us an email at sales@anchorblinds.com

Fresh Ideas for Your Home from Hunter Douglas

An antique design element can update your home decor.

Have you inherited an antique from a favorite relative or purchased a vintage piece from a local flea market or on a foreign vacation? Not sure how to integrate it into your home design?  Don’t despair. A touch of antiques can add to most any decorating style beautifully – and you’ll be saving a family heirloom or preserving a special memory. The surprise influence of an antique adds depth to a room and helps make the decor more beautiful and interesting.

Here are some tips about incorporating antiques into your decorating plan:

● Adding just one or two antique items will make a room feel layered and personal.
● Adding too many pieces can make your room look chaotic or junky or even like a museum, instead of a home!
● Collections of vintage objects can make a beautiful art display on walls and shelves.

Adding a vintage accessory or antique element to a room will update your décor to make it more intriguing and personal.
