JOAN'S HOT TIP FOR THE WEEK

1. Maintain a Healthy Diet. A good diet is essential for any person’s overall well-being and health. This is especially true during menstruation, as the body goes through many physical and psychological changes. In such a scenario, a balanced diet will help you reduce the symptoms related to periods, including bloating, cramps, and nausea.

2. Exercise, eating well and getting enough sleep. We know these things help our hearts, but did you know they help our minds stay healthy too?

3. Keep up with annual checkups. Don't neglect those yearly doctor visits. Those are necessary for keeping up on basic health metrics, such as blood pressure, thyroid and cholesterol levels, that can fluctuate and cause issues as you get older. These visits are also valuable for you to have face time with your physician to talk about any concerns or symptoms you may be experiencing that could require testing.
