Most of you are aware of the 2,000 people who are currently separated from their families and in ICE detention at the U.S. Mexico border. Trump’s Executive Order did nothing to address the inhumanity of those currently detained, and it has no power to provide a long-term solution without Congressional legislation. We need to unite and send a message to our elected officials that we won’t accept the human rights abuses.
Please join one of 4 actions against family separation at the border in the next week. And please encourage discussions in your congregation or community of peers about joining the UU church of Davenport, MCCQC, and QCI in a growing coalition of churches and agencies committed to being a sanctuary for immigrant persons in the Quad Cities.
