Black History Month Deep Dive—AWP’s Voices from the Archives
The 1,400-plus archived articles from The Writer’s Chronicle contain many treasures, but "Meditations On Mecca: Gwendolyn Brooks & the Responsibilities of the Black Poet" is an especially poignant gem. Preverify Your COVID-19 Vaccination for #AWP22
If you are registered for #AWP22 and planning to attend in person in Philadelphia, please be sure to preverify your COVID-19 vaccination information to save time when you arrive onsite. AWP has partnered with CrowdPass to verify attendee vaccination statuses, and beginning February 16, CrowdPass will be sending an email to all registered attendees requesting that you create an account on the AWP/CrowdPass page to submit your vaccination information. If you have any questions, please refer to the #AWP22 Health & Safety Policy. If you are registered for #AWP22 and did not receive an email from CrowdPass, please reach out to for assistance.
Apply for the Kurt Brown Prizes
Submit a selection of your work to be considered for a $500 award to be used for a member writing residency, conference, or retreat of your choice. Apply on our Submittable page by April 15, 2022, in the following categories:

Assign Your #AWP22 Bookfair Setup Access Registrations
#AWP22 exhibitors! If you have not done so already, please be sure to assign your Bookfair Setup Access registrations (BSAs) in the Exhibit Space Management page of your AWP account. Assigning your BSAs ahead of time will save you time onsite when you arrive at the Pennsylvania Convention Center to set up your bookfair exhibit space. BSAs should be assigned before the February 26 deadline. If you have any questions or need assistance assigning your BSAs, please email for assistance.
