View Our First Career Services Screencast
"Even if you aren't sure whether or not you want to ever go on the academic job market, do not leave graduate school without securing some letters of recommendation." Our Career Services Web Series kicks off with an honest, informative screencast by writer and Ball State professor Cathy Day speaking on letters of recommendation. Email us with your ideas for future sessions.
Join Us On a Campus Visit
The first videos are in! Come view the first submissions we've received from students at AWP member programs. In the spotlight this month is the unique New York Arts Program, which places students in semester-long New York City internships, complimented by academic advising and arts-specific seminars. We want to know what makes your program special. What would someone not understand about your writing program just by looking at the data in our online Guide? Students, send us your (informal and entertaining) three-minute videos and we'll help promote your program on our website and in our social media this fall.
Take Advantage of Exclusive Discounts with Interfolio
Our new partnership with Interfolio waives the $19 annual fee for AWP members using their dossier service. Simply provide code awp2014 when registering. Additionally, member programs can use Interfolio's ByCommittee application review service for free.
Read Uncommon MFA Advice from Elizabeth McCracken & Laura Kasischke
Last month we released the second and third installments of our MFA advice series, "Everything You Need to Think about Before You Apply to an MFA Program" by Elizabeth McCracken and "Decisions & Superstitions: On Choosing a Program" by Laura Kasischke. The popular series features uncommon advice from exceptional writer-teachers and continues this fall with articles by Jane Friedman and D.A. Powell.

Sponsor Opportunities Still Available for #AWP15 in Minneapolis
If you are thinking of sponsoring, now is the time! Though all of our major sponsors have now come forward, the deadline for all other sponsorship pledges has been extended to Saturday, November 15, 2014. AWP's Conference & Bookfair is now the largest literary gathering in North America. Sponsorship is an excellent way to promote your program, writing center, or literary organization to over 12,000 attendees in a comprehensive and low-cost way. Sponsorship includes great marketing benefits, complimentary registrations, and advertising on AWP's website as well as in the conference program and the Writer's Chronicle. A bookfair table is complimentary starting at the Patron level. Download the sponsorship guide to learn more about sponsorship, the bookfair, and advertising, or contact AWP's development director, Pamela Mills.
