Register for #AWP14
 
Registration for #AWP14 opens tomorrow! Take advantage of our lowest rates by registering during our early bird period, which runs from August 1 through October 31. Preregistration will be open through January 22. After that date, you may register online using our new will-call option, though not at a reduced pregistration rate. The conference hotel block at Sheraton Seattle will open on August 15; visit our hotel and travel page for updates.
 
#AWP14 Featured Presenters & Accepted Events Announced
 
Over 40 notable writers will participate as featured presenters at #AWP14. Watch for the release of the full conference schedule in October. Also, accepted events will be announced August 1. Visit us online tomorrow to learn more about the dynamic readings and panels that will be presented in Seattle.
 
#AWP14 Bookfair Sales Now Open to All Exhibitors
 
Over 300 previous conference exhibitors have secured space at the Seattle bookfair since our new purchasing system opened on July 1. The system is now open to all exhibitors, and sales will be ongoing until the bookfair sells out. Don't wait to purchase your booth or table at the most popular independent bookfair in the country.
 
Reserve a Bookfair Stage Event
 
Reservations for the three Adelphi University Bookfair Stages will open to confirmed exhibitors on August 1. Host your reading, celebration, and other literary event amid the bustle and excitement of one of the most popular areas of our conference. Reservations will open to nonexhibitors on September 16. And don't forget to like our AWP bookfair page on Facebook to receive exhibitor updates directly to your news feed.
 
Renew Your Institutional Membership and Update Your Guide Entry
 
Program directors, there is still time to renew your school's membership before the semester begins. And don't forget to update your program's listing in the AWP Guide to Writing Programs before application season begins.
 
Nominate an Outstanding Community Leader for the George Garrett Award
 
Do you know someone who has shown exceptional generosity to the next generation of writers? Nominate him or her for the 2014 George Garrett Award for Outstanding Community Service in Literature. The winner receives a lifetime AWP membership and a $2,000 honorarium, along with travel, accommodations, and registration to attend AWP's annual conference in Seattle, where the award will be publicly conferred. We welcome letters of nomination postmarked between August 1 and September 15.
 
Nominate a Lit Mag for AWP's Small Press Publisher Award
 
Are you a fan of an innovative, creative, and industry-leading literary magazine? Nominate your favorite for AWP's Small Press Publisher Award. The award includes a $2,000 honorarium and a complimentary exhibit booth, including two complimentary conference registrations, at our Annual Conference & Bookfair in the year following the recipient's recognition. Submit a PDF letter of nomination to bookfair@awpwriter.org between August 1 and September 15.
