Introducing Deep Dive: Artistic & Professional Advice from the AWP Archives
The Writer’s Chronicle and Writer’s Notebook articles are archived on the AWP website. These archives are chock-full of artistic and professional wisdom and advice. With this new e-newsletter feature, we hope to introduce some of these resources. First up, Diane Raab’s beautiful tribute to her mentor Philip F. Deaver from the Writer’s Notebook with advice for the New Year on how to just “hunker down & write.”
Attend a Virtual Lit Event
With each e-newsletter, we bring you new ways to connect with the literary community through our regular event roundup, including author conversations, workshops, and celebrations. These events encompass a range of free and ticketed registration and are not affiliated with AWP. All times are in ET. For more events, see this week's writing news roundup.

AWP asked: What do you hope to accomplish as a writer in 2022?

Here are some of the answers we received:

@marisarussellowrites: I hope to start querying my first book in 2022!

@nikkitolman: I hope to just be writing again. Got sick with inflammatory diseases and had to put down the pen. Thing is, the inflammation affected my brain, especially my memory and word retrieval. Seeing neurologists now and hope to get back on the literary path.

@golly.mrsmolly: Finishing my thesis would be a great start, and then finishing a first draft of the rest of the novel that it's an excerpt of would be even better.

Holly Norton: Compiling my second book of poems

Susan Meader Tobias: A working first draft
