So many exciting things are happening at AWP; we just can't wait a whole month to tell you about them! From now on, we'll be sending out two emails per month to our members, so you can hear about our services and content for you sooner.
Apply for the Writer to Writer Mentorship Program
Applications are welcome now through January 15 for members interested in participating in AWP's free mentorship program, Writer to Writer. The program matches emerging writers with published authors or fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and playwriting for an intensive, three-month series of modules on the writing life. We particularly encourage applications from writers who have never been affiliated with an MFA program, and those writing from regions, backgrounds, and traditions typically underrepresented in the literary world. The mentor and mentee applications can now be found on Submittable.

State of the Academic Job Market Report
In this year's report: "In 2015, professors, for the first time in years, saw salary growth that kept up with inflation, and some states allocated substantial new funding for education. Additionally, the adjunct labor union movement has spread across the nation and continues to gain support. Even so, the hard numbers are that for 171 tenure-track creative writing jobs offered last year, 3,000–4,000 MFA/PhD students graduated that same year."
