As usual it has been a busy time here at Mahoosuc! All the leaves are out in full bloom, some flowers are blossoming and the dogs are frolicking in their summer pastures!
We had to say good bye to two of our elder dogs, siblings Maeve and Cormac, at age 15. They will be missed and both were very important lead dogs during much of their lives. They had a lengthy comfortable retirement before passing.
We are thrilled to have found a good home for Maura, who didn't want to be a sled dog. She will get lots of attention being part of a loving family and school community.
We are looking for a home for Bradey who can't be a sled dog anymore and Mrytle who prefers not to be. Both are very nice, devoted dogs and will make excellent pets.
Polly just returned from a visit to her niece who is in the Peace Corps in Nepal and a horseback riding holiday to Upper Mustang in the northern area of Nepal close to Tibet. It was an amazing experience, very much an insight into another culture and also a great adventure!
Kevin is headed to Alaska to recon the Yukon River for a possible Mahoosuc canoe trip next summer, stay tuned...
Our summer canoe trips are starting to fill up although we do still have room on a number of them. You can see our summer canoe trip calendar
at:  http://www.mahoosuc.com/canoeing-2/. We are excited to be offering our "new" Way of the Wabanaki canoe trip to Sugar Island on the Penobscot River and enjoy working with Penobscot Native Jason Pardilla on our West Branch of the Penobscot canoe trip.

It isn't too early to book a dogsledding trip! Some of the more popular dates are already full. Check out the dogsledding trip schedule at: http://www.mahoosuc.com/dogsledding-2/.
Kevin has been building a 16' Prospector canoe for Dave Evans and it is looking very nice and will be in the water soon!
If you haven't had a chance to view the video made about our Allagash trips it is worth a watch. To view: http://www.mahoosuc.com/video-gallery/.This is the Allagash Wilderness Waterway's 50th anniversary and we are happy to be paddling the river with renowned Maine guide Gil Gilpatrick in September. It will be an historical and fun trip!
Hope to see some of you on the water this summer!
Polly & Kevin & all the doggies
